About Nepean
Nepean was an independent city in its own right: one of the largest in the region, with a population well over 130,000, until it amalgamated into the new City of Ottawa in 2001. It sits in Ottawa's southwest, and its identity still shows through local landmarks like the Nepean Sportsplex and the Merivale Road commercial strip.
Barrhaven grew out of what was once Nepean, and the two areas remain closely linked geographically. Whether you're closer to Merivale Road or further out toward Barrhaven, you're in our regular Ottawa route.
